Electric Car Charging Times and Charging Options

1. Domestic Outlet Home Charging (Regular Outlet): Level 1 Charging using a normal grounded three-prong 110V/120V charging outlet usually takes around 24 hours or more for a full charge. In other words, expect it to take days, not hours, to charge with this method.
2. Installed Brand-Approved Domestic Charging: A brand-specific EV Level 2 Charger can be professionally installed at your home. Rapid 240V+ EV Level 2 Chargers deliver significantly faster charging rates than using a regular grounded household outlet. How long does it take to charge an electric car with an EV Level 2 charger? You can typically fully recharge in 8 to 12 hours, with up to an 80% charge in 30 minutes.
3. Public Charging: You can charge on the go in the St Louis Park area at parking garages, malls, hotels, and even apartment buildings. Public charging stations vary in type and speed but usually feature Level 2 EV Chargers or Level 3 EV Chargers. A Level 3 Charger can often give you a full charge in 15 to 25 minutes. Fast DC Chargers are also available at some public charging stations and can provide a charge of up to 80% in 36 minutes.
